CAH Board Member Biography’s
Karl has been a member of CAH’s Board of Directors for over five years. He is currently serving as President of the Board of Directors and is a member of the Board’s Housing Committee. In his professional career, Karl is a Senior Vice President of a North Shore Bank, managing its commercial lending staff. Married and the father of three, Karl also has volunteered his time to the Boy Scouts organization, serving as its North Shore District Finance Committee Chair and as an Assistant Scoutmaster. He has been the trust fund Financial Secretary at his church.
Thomas Barrett (Vice President)
Tom is the current Vice-President of the Board of Directors at Citizens for Adequate Housing. This distinguished North Shore attorney has involved himself in several community-based organizations over the years including: the Board of Directors of Community Service of Hamilton-Wenham, and served as its President in years past; is currently President of the Hamilton-Wenham Lions Club; served on the Board of Directors of School’s Out as well as its President; and is a member of the Finance Committee of St. Paul’s Church in Hamilton. He is a member of the Salem Bar Association’s Executive Committee, and a member of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers.
John Krawczyk (Treasurer)
John has been a member of the CAH Board for over 9 years and is currently Vice President of our Board of Directors. In the past, he has served as both our board President, and our Secretary. He chairs the Housing Committee and serves on the Development Committee. John has lived on the North Shore his entire life. Over the years, he served on the City of Peabody Conservation Commission and the Peabody School Building Committee, and in his professional life, has been his company’s United Way coordinator. A graduate of Northeastern University, John is a Registered Professional Civil Engineer with over 33 years of experience. He also earned an MBA in Finance from Bentley College. In his spare time, John enjoys music, travel, historical restoration of his home and Civil War history.
Steve Britton (Officer)
Born and raised on the North Shore, Steve has resided in Peabody for fifteen years. He enjoys spending time with his family, and involves himself in their activities. Over the years he has coached, or assisted in Peabody Youth Soccer, Peabody Little League, and the Flag Football League. He enjoys playing racquetball and skiing. He says, “I have always been impressed with the level of care and service the staff of CAH provides the clients of the shelters, and I feel it is important for myself to try and give something back to help those less fortunate.”
John Flynn (Officer)
John brings his experience in fundraising and an instinct for interpersonal skills to the CAH Board and to the Development Committee. John is a graduate of St. John’s Prep and Georgetown University. He is a long-time, North Shore businessman, currently a partner of a firm that specializes in business consulting, sales and marketing. In addition to his position on the CAH Board of Directors, John has served on the Boards of several other organizations and businesses, including North shore Medical Center, Eastern Bank, Leather Manufacturing of America and the Beverly YMCA. When not involved in community service, John enjoys golf, dancing, music and travel.
"Bill" has been a member of CAH’s Board of Directors for years, and has been involved in one capacity or another since the inception of Citizens for Adequate Housing, Inc. Today Bill serves on the Development Committee of CAH’s Board. His strong computer skills and administrative strengths lend themselves well to his position on the Board. Bill is married and resides on the North Shore with his wife, Elizabeth.
Ruthann Remis (Officer)
Ruthann is a long-standing Board member at Citizens for Adequate Housing. Ruthann is also a Board member of the North Shore Jewish Journal, and has chaired several fundraisers. Additionally, she does volunteer work for the Jewish Family Service, the American Cancer Society, the North Shore Jewish Federation, and the Heart Fund. In her “spare” time, Ruthann enjoys reading, golfing and gardening.
Tom Chatellier (Officer)
Tom joined the Board this past year and is a member of the Finance Committee. He is married and has three grown daughters and has lived in Beverly for the last 27 years. In his professional life, Tom is a commercial lender at East Boston Savings Bank and has worked in the past at Shawmut Bank, Cambridge Trust, and Eastern Bank. In addition to CAH, Tom is an active member of the Beverly Rotary Club, volunteer treasurer of Liberty Lodge, and a board member of New Communities Services, Inc – a not for profit organization that maintains adults in their communities by providing high quality supportive services and dignified housing to adults whose special needs place them at high risk.
This is Corey’s first year of service on CAH's Board of Directors, although as a neighbor and friend to CAH founder, Mary Jane Lee and son of veteran board member, William Jackson he has been around the organization from its' inception. Professionally, Corey handles Product Operations Management for Novell Inc., an enterprise software company based in Waltham, MA. Corey is on the Executive Committee for Village Theatre Project of Boston, MA, a reviewer for the Eastern Massachusetts Association of Community Theatres DASH Awards program, and has served as a director for several area theatrical productions including working with Reading Memorial High School Drama Club each winter. Corey is the author of a popular blog celebrating the revival of the North Shore's next popular downtown destination, downtownlynn.com.
