Qualifications/Skills:  This position requires someone who has the ability to prepare healthy meals for a number of people.  Patience and a willingness to work in a household context are also essential.  Flexibility is essential.

Hours/Dates:  Cook positions are currently available.  We are looking for people to come one night a month (Monday-Thursday) from 4:00 – 5:30 PM.  We do ask that the volunteer come for at least a period of six months.  Many of the families, especially the children, have lived with tremendous amounts of instability.  By coming to the shelter consistently for a reasonable amount of time a volunteer can contribute to giving them a new sense of stability and security.

Goals:

Cooks must be people who are willing to come right into the families situation and lend them a hand.  They need to be people who want to practically and directly reach out to the families.  Thank you for taking up the challenge and offering to help a homeless family in this way.  We look forward to working with you.  Should you have any questions please call the Director of Family & Volunteer Services, Ginny Sidmore at 978-531-9775 Ext. 16 or email at vsidmore@cahns.org
