Working primarily in oils, I combine my love of color, light and space. Referencing my subject, without allowing it to define my painting, I give as much importance to the negative space as to the subject. Color is primary; it reflects the mood of the painting. Applying brush stroke over brush stroke creating pieces and patterns of color speak more of the abstract than representational. Painting is my passion; it transports me to a peaceful place and renews my spirit. This sense of quietness and tranquility are the elements I try to capture and convey to the viewer. I received my education in fine arts at Montserrat College of Art.
