
This piece entitled, “Temple and Tower” was created in his Washington, New Hampshire studio where Gile’s paints and draws in a variety of media. The artist was inspired by the elaborately carved facades, column capitals, and pediments of the Romanesque architecture in France and Spain. Giles lives in Salem where he paints and illustrates children’s books. BRIDGES ARE TO CROSS (listed in publisher’s weekly best picture books of 1998. His illustrations have been exhibited at The Art Institute of Chicago, New York Society of Illustrators, the DeCordova Museum, and currently at Gallery Della Piana in Wenham from November 8th-December 10th. His latest project , of which he is the author and illustrator, will be released in May of 2009. His paintings have been exhibited at Montserrat College of Art’s Carol Schlosberg Alumni Gallery, the 1997 Artist’s Trust exhibition, and at 29 Newbury Street, the Paul Dietrich Gallery.
