Life Skills Educator

 

Specific Duties:  To enable a parent to better deal with life situations by:

(note:  These are just an example, other options are possible)

 

Qualifications/Skills:  A life-skills teacher should have personal experience in the area of instruction.  Professional experience in a field is a plus.  Teachers should be able to exhibit patience and flexibility.  This position requires an individual who is sensitive to the need for homeless families to be empowered through skills for independent living.

 

Hours/Dates:  Life skills teaching opportunities are currently available.  The day and time of the class is flexible.  Scheduling will be worked out by the volunteer and the Director of Family and Volunteer Services.  Some activities may run through a multi-week series.  Other groups may only need a one-time visit.
