PAVING THE WAY 2008 CORPORATE CAMPAIGN
Today in Massachusetts there are over 3,700 homeless children, part of the 1,900 families where homelessness is a reality, one they face every day living in emergency shelters. On the North Shore, Citizens for Adequate Housing, Inc. (CAH) is a leading provider of services for families facing this devastating challenge. Everyday CAH provides shelter, life skills education and affordable housing to our neighbors in need.
Our emergency shelter, the Inn Between and our sober living transitional housing program, Inn Transition, offer welcoming and supportive communities to families facing this trauma. Uniquely, our Communities Land Trust program offers low income affordable rental housing to families struggling to make ends meet. Our mission has called us to work at ending this epidemic one family at a time. Sadly our work is not done, and will not be as long as families are homeless.
It is a new era in Massachusetts, and our current state administration is “paving the way” with initiatives that make ending homelessness a priority. Shelter alone is not the answer. Citizens for Adequate Housing realized this many years ago and has worked towards this goal. Restoring the dignity and hope of our shelter families begins the process. Empowering families to change and to explore new opportunities follows. Finding long term sustainable housing completes the process. Thanks in part to what we hope will be your renewed support; CAH can pave this path for hundreds of families, improving the lives of these families and their children.
For the last 25 years much of our success is the result of the generosity and encouragement of our business community of which you are a part. Thank you for your past support shared with CAH. Together we have provided direct programming for each family, helping them face their individual issues surrounding their homelessness and look for opportunities to make permanent changes in their lives. And in the long run truly giving our homeless children new opportunities to thrive and stop this cycle.
Citizens for Adequate Housing invites you to join with us in our 25th year and help us continue “paving the way” towards ending homelessness. Your gift to our campaign will do just that. Homelessness has an impact on all of us at a huge cost to our community. Helping homeless families today as they stabilize their lives and stop this cycle softens this impact. Together we will continue to “pave the way” and end homelessness.
