With a career involved in home ownership, it seemed most appropriate that I become involved in the “Raising the Roof” event.  My interests have long been centered around personal space and the process of making it a sanctuary from the impact of the world outside.  The comfort of having a place to live should be enjoyed by all, and this is what Citizens for Adequate Housing is striving to provide.   The inspiration for my piece, the “Cape Coddage” comes from my love of cottage style with a nod to a local icon that is so familiar to us all.  Why not cover my cottage with it?  Each of the tiles was individually made.  The play on words aside, I hope that in finding a new home, my “Cape Coddage” will aid in providing one to a deserving family as well.  I am proud to have been a part of this fundraiser, and hope that together we can create more than just adequate housing – inspiring spaces that nurture souls as well as protect them.
